Should you subscribe to PAM?
Fraud and abuse, re-engineering, and downsizing are all issues discussed on a new moderated listserv that provides a discussion forum for CFOs, department heads, utilization management staff, medical records staff, and hospital admitting and patient accounts directors. As with most other listservs, participation in Patient Accounts Management (PAM) is free, and you may unsubscribe any time. Messages posted to the list are distributed in digest format to subscribers daily. Patient registration, insurance verification, account creation, charge collection, medical records coding, billing, account follow-up, bad debt and charity care, accounts receivable management, and reporting are addressed. For information on how to subscribe, contact Allan P. DeKaye, MBA, FHFMA, president of DEKAYE Consulting Inc., Oceanside, NY.
