System’s Infoweb aids access education

The system access education department at Geisinger Health System, Danville, PA, gets an extra boost for its programs and activities through use of the organization’s Infoweb, an Intranet site.

The department has its own Web page with links to a contact section that lists its staff and all the ways they can be reached, says Elizabeth Ackerman, MEd, director, system access education. "Supervisors can register their staff for classes. They’re given information on what forms to fill out and links to those forms. If they hire someone, they can follow the process to get that person set up."

Most of the information that Geisinger’s access employees need is available on the Web page, Ackerman says, including a patient access manual, explanations of third-party contracts, and a ZIP code search for questions about addresses.

A feedback section is offered for questions about any facet of the access job, she adds.
