Alaris Medical acquires new pump technology

San Diego-based Alaris Medical recently signed an agreement with Caesarea Medical Electronics to license a unique pole-mounted volumetric infusion pump technology.

An Alaris spokesman says the pump is extremely small in both size and weight for a pole-mounted pump, although it is too early to provide specific details. The technology will first be marketed overseas, followed by an introduction in the United States. No timetable has been set for domestic marketing.
