In vitro resistance to daptomycin associated with clinical failure during treatment for MRSA infection has not been well documented. In vitro resistance to daptomycin is uncommon, de novo-resistant clinical isolates have not yet been reported, and the incidence of resistance, occurring during treatment is believed to be very low. The mechanism of resistance is not even known.

The potential for a clinically detrimental interaction between didanosine and tenofovir disoproxil fumarate (DF) has received considerable attention lately in the medical community. Tenofovir DF is a nucleotide analog of adenosine 5-monophosphate, which was approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for the treatment of human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection in October 2001.
