News Brief: NAHAM conference to be held in Tampa

"Creative Solutions for Your World" is the theme of the 31st annual conference and exposition of the National Association of Healthcare Access Management (NAHAM) to be held this month at the Saddlebrook Resort in Tampa, FL. Keynote speakers for the event, set for May 14-17, are Michael Fortino, head of a multimillion-dollar training and consulting firm; and Nick Hall, PhD, Hon. MD, a psychoneuroimmunologist who is a pioneer for research on the interrelationships between emotions and health.

Twenty-five concurrent workshop sessions will cover such topics as "Emerging Trends in Patient ID," "Bad Debt and Charity Care: Separating the Can’t Pays’ from the Won’t Pays,’" and "Voice is Data, Too: A Technology Solution to Payer Communications Challenges."

Examinations for the Certified Healthcare Access Manager (CHAM) and Certified Healthcare Access Associate (CHAA) will be offered during the conference. More information is available at www.naham.org.
