Data offered on CD-ROM
A CD-ROM disc is being offered specifically to help critical care nurses keep up to date on new developments and also to research solutions to particular problems.Called the RNdex Critical Care, it indexes and abstracts articles from more than 15 critical care and emergency nursing journals. More than 12,000 records from 250 journals are currently available from 1992 to present. The CD-ROMs are updated every four years.
Examples of the types of uses for the RNdex Critical Care include finding articles evaluating a certain piece of equipment or locating a research instrument to use in a new study.
The CD-ROM is co-sponsored by the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses (AACN) and Information Resources Group, a distributor of electronic databases. Personal subscriptions to the service, including quarterly updates, are $249, or $199 for AACN members. Hospital subscriptions start at $495. For more information, call (800) 200-6040. t
