Columbia/HCA to conduct field testing of telemedicine system
Telemedicine goes mainstream with the announcement that Columbia/HCA, the nation’s largest health care provider, will field-test the HealthCare Vision telemedicine system in the home health care market."We believe that with the right tools, visiting home care nurses can bring doctors to patients via virtual house calls," says Debra Wertzberger, CEO of the Dallas-based Columbia Homecare Group. "HealthCare Vision has been working closely with Columbia Homecare Group to define the new system."
HealthCare Vision’s system is based on a collaborative effort among strategic partners Smith Micro Software in Aliso Viejo, CA; WhetStone Technologies in Park City, UT; Pixera Corp. in Los Gatos, CA; Verbex Voice Systems in Edison, NJ; Toshiba Corp. in Irving, CA; and Hartford Computer Group in Inverness, IL.
