Oral antidepressant offers option for elderly
Many elderly patients have swallowing difficulties that make it difficult to take oral medications in tablet form. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration in Rockville, MD, recently approved an oral solution of the popular selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor, Celexa.
In a recent issue of Case Management Advisor, we reported that Celexa was manufactured by Parke-Davis in Parisippany, NJ. Celexa is manufactured by Forest Laboratories in New York City and co-marketed by Forest and Parke-Davis.
Full prescribing information for Celexa is available at www.celexa.com.
