MECON, a San Ramon, CA, consulting firm, shares some of its data with readers this month.
The company bases its information on financial, organizational, and operational data gathered directly from a Web-based, proprietary database product called MECON-PEERnext. MECON benchmarks are drawn directly from hundreds of health care facilities and systems and track 31,000 items of information in over 280 departments.
