Is Viagra more vital than birth control?

Obstetricians and gynecologists meeting in New Orleans have called for insurers to pay for prescriptions for birth control pills and IUDs. Doctors are concerned with the fact some insurers are beginning to cover the expense of Viagra, prescribed for impotency, yet are still refusing to cover birth control drugs and devices.

Women's birth control prescriptions are still not covered by 45% of insurers and close to half of the managed care plans-plans which cover 90% of most other prescribed medications, Luella Kelin, director of women's health issues for the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, told reporters during the organization's meeting in New Orleans.
