Collaborative established as industry resource
Finding that there is a scarcity of information about hospital-sponsored management service organizations (MSOs) and a lack of models to emulate and compare against, a national group has started to promote information sharing and research projects on issues such as staffing, ownership, risk management, and technological advancements.
Calling itself the MSO Collaborative, the national group of hospital-sponsored MSO executives has joined to network, share information, and set standards for the industry.
"We can’t think of a better way to get a first-hand view of what is going on in the industry," says Heather Bossin, a principal at Medimetrix, the national health care management consulting and marketing firm that initially proposed MSO Collaborative.
Limited to executives of MSOs that are owned or financed by hospitals and health systems, members plan to develop a benchmarking survey as one of their first projects. t
