HCFA updates ASC rates
The Health Care Financing Administration delivered a program memorandum to its carriers spelling out inflation rate updates for ambulatory surgical center payments, which went into effect Oct. 1, 1997. They are:
• Group 1, $314;
• Group 2, $422;
• Group 3, $482;
• Group 4, $595;
• Group 5, $678;
• Group 6, $789 [$639 + $150 for intraocular lenses (IOLs)];
• Group 7, $941;
• Group 8, $928 ($778 + $150 for IOLs).
