Company releases IV catheter simulator
HT Medical Systems, of Rockville, MD, recently launched its CathSim Intravenous Training System. Using a tactile-feedback robotic device called AccuTouch and simulated patients, the system under computer control mimics the feel of a needle going into the veins.
The system costs $8,500 and is aimed primarily for teaching institutions and nursing schools.
