Actions To Take With 'At-Risk' Employees

o Recommend periodic rest

o Suggest cross-training to reduce physical stress

o Have them alternate hard days and easy days

o Study their nutritional habits

o Take regular measurements of lean body and body fat mass

o Consider increasing their intake of antioxidants - beta carotene, and vitamins C and E

o Consider calcium supplements for stronger muscles and bones

o Consider iron supplements to replace the hemoglobin that may have been lost because of damage caused by exercise

o Consider the possibility of professional counseling; education may not be enough
