• Interlynx Technology (Boston) has installed InterAction, an interactive voice response-based employee self-service human resources application, at BayCare Health System (Clearwater, FL). BayCare, a provider-owned managed care network, plans to implement InterAction in a phased approach at more than 40 locations, including hospitals, mental health and ambulatory care centers, nursing homes and home health offices. BayCare said it sees InterAction as the core component in its plan to become a paperless organization, beginning with the automation of human resources, payroll and benefits processing.
• Captiva Software (San Diego) has received an order for FormWare, its forms- and document-processing software, for installation at Wisconsin Physicians Service Insurance (WPS) locations in Madison, WI, and Marion, IL. The FormWare software is part of a $2 million document management solution designed for WPS by Image Process Design, and will be used to process medical claims.
• CareFacts Information Systems (St. Paul, MN) has signed contracts with Lakeview Medical Center Home Health Care/Hospice (Rice Lake, WI) and Interim HealthCare of Wausau (Wausau, WI). Lakeview will be implementing CareFacts’ clinical and scheduling systems, while Interim will implement the company’s billing software.
• Sunquest Information Systems (SIS; Tucson, AZ) has contracted to provide the Adventist Health System (Roseville, CA) network with a comprehensive Laboratory Information System (LIS) and consulting support. Adventist has annual revenues exceeding $2 billion and its network includes 32 hospitals, 26 nursing homes, and numerous home health agencies. Adventist will use Sunquest’s FlexiLab LIS system to standardize laboratory processes across 14 hospitals, beginning in its Midwest region. Sunquest also has developed Clinical Event Manager, a cross-platform communication system that issues clinical alerts via e-mail or pager.
