CMS makes corrections to final rule on ASC list
The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has issued some technical corrections to its interim final rule on Medicare’s list of procedures approved to be performed in ambulatory surgery centers (ASCs).
The corrections change the effective date of the additions and deletions to July 1, 2005. The previous effective date was July 5, 2005. They also added CPT 55873, cryosurgical ablation of the prostate including ultrasonic guidance for interstitial cryosurgical probe placement. The procedure has been added to Group 9.
CMS is adding a total of 66 codes and deleting five from the ASC list.
