Timebomb: The Global Epidemic of Multi-Drug-Resistant Tuberculosis has been awarded first prize in the trade category by the American Medical Writers Association’s 2002 Medical Books Competition. The book was written by Lee B. Reichman, MD, MPH, with Janice Hopkins Tanne. Reichman, an editorial adviser to TB Monitor, is executive director of the National Tuberculosis Center at the New Jersey School of Medicine in Newark. The 5,000-member American medical Writers Association promotes excellence in writing and production for professional, regulatory and lay audiences.
