JCAHO publishes plan, network indicators
The Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations in Oakbrook Terrace, IL, has released the "National Library of Health-care IndicatorsTM: Health Plan and Network Edition" (NLHI), the nation’s first comprehensive compendium of validated performance measures for health plans and networks.
NLHI has 225 indicators that can assess the performance of health plans, integrated delivery networks, provider-sponsored organizations, and other emerging delivery systems. Each indicator has a profile that:
• defines the measure;
• describes its focus and rationale;
• details its characteristics, including risk adjustment and stratifications, if any;
• portrays its applicability to various health care delivery settings; and
• delineates the degree to which the indicator has been formally tested.
The NLHI is available for $25. To order, call the Joint Commission’s Customer Service Center at (630) 792-5800 and use the code NLHI-96EM.
