FDA amends consent regs
The federal Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has amended its regulations on informed consent for subjects involved in clinical research. The FDA now requires that subjects or their representatives must date the consent form at the time of signing it. In addition, the case history must document that informed consent was obtained prior to the subject’s participation in the study.
