PPO adds chiropractic for 350,000 members

Principal Health Care of Georgia SouthCare PPO in Atlanta recently joined the growing number of managed care organizations currently providing coverage for chiropractic services. Beginning immediately, chiropractors will be allowed to participate as preferred providers for SouthCare’s 350,000 members.

Many of SouthCare’s employer groups already provide chiropractic benefits. For those who do not provide those benefits, SouthCare members receive a 20% discount off charges for services rendered by Alignis providers, an Atlanta-based managed alternative health care company.

Nationwide, an increasing number of managed care organizations now offer benefits for chiropractic and other alternative or integral providers. (For further discussion of alternative providers, see Case Management Advisor, Jan. 1997, pp. 18-22.)
