• Simione Central Holdings (Atlanta) has launched its new interactive, multimedia Prospective Payment System (PPS) CourseWare from the company’s training division, www.HomeCareTraining.com. The CD-ROM-based PPS CourseWare is a cost-effective training alternative to understanding and implementing change in response to the Health Care Financing Administration’s (Baltimore) proposed PPS regulations. The training topics include PPS regulatory issues and financial and operational implementation strategies, said Simione.
• HomMed and Motorola have joined to add two-way wireless communications capabilities to the HomMed Monitoring System for congestive heart failure patients. The system automatically transmits patient data via Motorola’s CreataLink 2XT wireless, two-way data transceiver, the company said. More information is available on the Web at www.motorola.com.
