HIV postexposure prophylaxis resources
The HIV Postexposure Prophylaxis (PEP) Registry, in existence since October 1996, closed to new registrants Dec. 31, 1998. Prelimi nary results show that health care workers for whom HIV PEP is prescribed report widely recognized toxicities from those treatments, suggesting that careful counseling regarding drug toxicity may be necessary to improve PEP compliance among exposed HCWs.
