Gene therapy takes step forward
Inex Pharmaceuticals of Vancouver, British Columbia, recently announced it has demonstrated in animal models that an anti-cancer gene drug can reduce the size of tumors at distal sites after it has been encapsulated in the company's proprietary drug delivery technology and administered intravenously.
Inex technology has the potential to provide a method for health care providers to administer a drug intravenously to treat metastatic cancer that will seek out and inhibit tumors at distal sites in the body. n
