Another change for Kytril
Earlier this year, SmithKline Beecham announced that its Kytril injection, used to prevent nausea and vomiting associated with initial and repeat courses of certain chemotherapy, could be administered undiluted over 30 seconds any time within 30 minutes prior to chemotherapy. Previously, Kytril was infused diluted over five minutes.
Now, the company is making a Kytril 4 ml multidose vial available in an effort to make weight-dosing more efficient and to minimize wasted product. The vials also should help agencies conserve resources, contain costs, and make better use of storage space.
