Wear your heart rate on your sleeve in new T-shirt
Those with medical concerns need not forgo fashion, thanks to Sensatex/Lifelink, a company based in Dallas. Sensatex is in the process of developing a T-shirt that can monitor a patient’s vital signs for real-time acquisition.
The company, formed by Seed One Ventures, describes its mission as developing a "wireless platform for remote health care monitoring called the Smart Shirt." The shirt is made from a fabric interwoven with sensors that can provide an ongoing stream of vital signs.
When the project is complete, medical monitoring companies will be able to write software applications that will let them tap into the patient’s statistics, as long as that person is wearing the shirt.
