Home care provider offers specialized care manuals

North Mississippi Medical Center Home Health Agency, in Tupelo, MS, recently developed a series of care manuals for six specialized areas of home care nursing practice including psychiatric, cardiovascular, pulmonary, diabetes, enterostomal therapy and rehabilitation care.

"These are the outcome of our agency redesign to prepare for managed care," says Paula Turner, customer advocate. Each manual includes patient and caregiver teaching guides, clinical pathways, and patient care forms. Some also include job descriptions for specialized positions, and independent study modules for both home health aides and nurses.
