New association formed for health care education
The Health Care Education Association (HCEA) is a new organization created to replace the American Society for Healthcare Education and Training (ASHET), which disbanded in the fall of 1997. The former ASHET board members are overseeing the start-up process, and will serve HCEA until elected leaders can be installed.
Currently, discounted inaugural membership rates are being offered for $39. A second option is to join as a Patron/Founding Member for $250. This fee puts members in the Founding Class of Members and contributes to the financial resources necessary to start the new organization.
The association hopes to host its first national conference on Nov. 12-15, 1998, in Atlanta.
