Olsten merges with Brazilian staffing firm

Last month, Olsten Corporation announced it had expanded its staffing operations to 14 countries by acquiring 51% of Top Services, a leading Brazilian staffing and outsourcing services company in Sao Paulo. The deal enlarges Olsten's Latin American staffing operations to include Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Mexico, and Puerto Rico.

"By entering Brazil, one of the world's larger staffing markets, we continue to round out both our Latin American operations and our international network as we serve the growing needs of companies that use flexible staffing to meet intense global competition," says Frank N. Liguori, Olsten chairman and chief executive officer.

"We are very proud to become part of Olsten Corporation," says Maria Helena Gomes, Top Services founder and general manager. Top Services provides temporary services, outsourcing, permanent placement, and other services. Olsten operates 500 U.S. and Canadian health care offices, providing network services, caregivers, and management services to home health agencies, home infusion providers, and health care institutions.
