New Web site to help improve compliance
Does your facility want to improve your cardiac and stroke outcomes? Maybe you need to improve patient compliance.
If that might be an issue, the American Heart Association in Dallas has some new tools for you to use, all accessible on the Internet.
Failure to follow physician advice can delay illness recovery, increase medical costs, and even worsen certain conditions. But getting the importance of compliance across in a typical 15-minute appointment is hard, particularly if physicians don’t have the right tools available.
The new Heart Association Web site, www. americanheart.org, offers two areas: One is designed for health care professionals, and one is intended for consumers.
In the professional area, physicians, nurses, and other health care professionals can access customizable patient information sheets, patient brochures, and compliance quizzes. The consumer site offers advice on medications, diet, exercise, and how to quit smoking.
The new site is part of an ongoing education campaign about compliance. For more information, visit the Web site, or contact the association at (800) 242-8721.
