Skin cancer fact sheet available
The Boston-based National Youth Sports Safety Foundation, Inc. (NRSSF) has published a new fact sheet, Skin Cancer, which provides current information on:
· statistics;
· risk factors;
· suggestions for prevention;
· uses of sunscreen;
· resources.
The fact sheet has been written with the assistance of the American Cancer society, and is designed for parents, health professionals, program administrators and coaches to serve as a guideline on current recommendations.
The American Cancer Society estimates that more than 1 million Americans will develop skin cancer annually, making it the most common type of cancer in the United States.
