The Hospital and Healthcare Compensation Service recently released its latest comparison of hourly pay rates for RNs and LPNs in home health care, nursing homes, hospice, and hospitals.

The median rate for registered nurses in home care, published in the "Home care Salary and Benefits Report," is $17.80 an hour. That’s about a dollar more per hour than hospice nurses and $1.40 more per hour than nursing home RNs, but $1.51 less an hour than hospital nurses.

LPNs in home care had a median hourly rate of $12.51, which was higher than any of their counterparts in nursing homes, hospice, or hospitals.
