Internet directory lists 400,000 physicians
More than 400,000 physicians are marketing themselves over the Internet through participation in an on-line directory called Doctors On Call, published by the Camarillo, CA-based company of the same name.
The company announced that its new World Wide Web site and public search engine will allow patients to use the Internet to choose a physician in their immediate vicinity.
Among the advertising options available to participating physicians is the ability to have potential patients link directly to their e-mail boxes or physician profiles. The company also provides domain accounts and professionally-designed Web presences for medical professionals.
Doctors On Call is free to the public and provides subscription options to doctors for $15 to $35 per month.
