Centers wait to hear if they’ll receive computers

HCFA expects to announce a decision this month

Private duty agencies wanting to know which senior centers in their area will offer Internet access through the Computers for Seniors program will have to wait until the end of August.

By that time, the Health Care Financing Administration (HCFA) in Baltimore expects to announce which centers were chosen. Centers interested in the program had to apply to HCFA regional offices for computers before July 18. The announcement of the program and the application for the computers were located on HCFA’s Web site, www.hcfa.gov, or obtained by calling HCFA regional offices. (For more information about the Computers for Seniors program, see related story, p. 93.)

For more information about the program and the senior centers in your area, contact the regional office serving your state. (See box, above.)
