Staff Builders acquires millions in long-term care
Staff Builders, one of the nation’s largest home health nursing providers, has acquired certain business assets from Hygeia, a California-based home health care company. While terms were ot disclosed, the transaction includes Staff Builders’ assumption of more than $10 million in shift care business in nine California markets, including Anaheim, Bakersfield, Chatsworth, Fresno, Hayword, Pasadena, San Bernardino, Santa Clara, Torrance, and additional visit care business in Roseville and San Diego.
"The acquired business is represented by a broad spectrum of patients, services, and payer services, the bulk of whom are long-term cases," says Stephen Savitsky, chairman and CEO of Staff Builders.
Staff Builders, based in Lake Success, NY, is a national providers of home health care services with 240 locations in 37 states and the District of Columbia. With a pool of more than 40,000 caregivers, the company provides services including specialized home nursing; high-tech outpatient health care services; physical, occupational, and speech therapies; medical social services; and homemakers. As of Feb. 28, Staff Builders says it receives 19.8% of its service revenues from Medicaid and other local government programs, and 14% from private insurance and individuals.
