Legal review section begins in this issue
In this issue of Hospital Home Health, we offer our readers a new feature, Legal Review and Commentary, written by nationally known health health care attorney Elizabeth Hogue, JD, of Burtonsville, MD.
Because of home care’s ever-changing legal landscape, and especially in view of the Balanced Budget Act’s emphasis on patient freedom of choice and the inherent antitrust implications for hospitals, we feel compelled to add another service to keep you informed. The goal, as always, is to help you avoid legal snares arising from the new legislation, but we also will cover such perennial topics as labor relations, wage and hour laws, and malpractice claims.
We are fortunate to have Hogue with Hospital Home Health. She brings with her more than 30 years of legal experience in the health care arena. Readers who have enjoyed her LegalEase columns over the years will be pleased to know she will continue writing those.
