Need a current resource for medical devices and where to get them? Help is here with the 20th edition of the Health Devices Sourcebook by ECRI, a nonprofit agency in Plymouth Meeting, PA, that provides information and technical assistance to the health care community.
The Sourcebook is an annual directory of medical products and their manufacturers, distributors, third-party servicers, and leasing organizations in North America. The 1998 edition contains more than 6,200 company and 5,000 product listings.
Same-day surgery professionals can find a wide variety of medical devices in the book, such as implants and laser and imaging equipment. The Sourcebook is cross-indexed and includes names and addresses of manufacturers as well as their e-mail and World Wide Web addresses. Purchasers can be informed of any changes in directory information during the year with access to ECRI’s telephone update service and free database searches.
