Following U.S. Food and Drug Administration approval of Excedrin as an over-the-counter treatment for migraines, the American Pharma ceu tical Association has published a monograph on the drug to help arm pharmacists with information to give consumers and patients. The therapeutics bulletin details pharmacokinetics, dosing, dispensing, efficacy, adverse effects, and precautions associated with the drug's use. If you weren't among the 103,000 pharmacists to whom the organization says it mailed the information, call (202) 628-4410.
Also, the agency's latest Patient Counseling Handbook - covering 1,000 common drugs, 242 monographs (43 of which are new to this edition), and a brand name/generics listing - is available for $35 to $45. Call (800) 878-0729.
