As is often the case with science-based medicine, many great discoveries are made entirely by accident or out of an urgent necessity. Falling into the latter category was CardioTech International’s (Woburn, Massachusetts) first pediatric implant of a synthetic coronary artery bypass graft (CABG), the first of its kind in the world.
