The Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association (Chicago) has redesigned its web site, www.bluecares.com, to offer consumers a wider selection of online health care information. Features include a monthly health topic spotlight, a PPO provider finder, BlueCard Worldwide hospital network, children activities, a body atlas, health calculators and online diary, glossary of health care terms, and a career opportunities center.

Cross Country Staffing (Boca Raton, FL) has launched HospitalHub.com. The site is designed to help nurses, therapists, technicians, advance practitioners fill positions where shortages exist, and to reduce their cost-per-hire during a nursing shortage. The site is a library of the country’s leading hospitals with facility profiles and employment information.

Sigma-Tau Pharmaceuticals (Gaithersburg, MD) has launched its corporate web site, www.sigmatau.com. The site includes a patients’ corner, physicians’ corner, company overview, and prescription and consumer product information. Another feature is a virtual "Hallway of Voices" which presents unique personalities who provide testimonials about caring for children living with rare chronic illnesses.

Women First Healthcare (San Diego), a company devoted to improving the health of midlife women, has launched an Internet site, www.womenfirst.com. It offers both midlife women and clinicians a source of credible information about breast health, menopause, nutrition, skin care and other midlife health issues.
