Same-Day Surgery takes national editorial award
Stories covered drug and alcohol impairment
Same-Day Surgery recently was awarded an "honorable mention" from the Arlington, VA-based Newsletter & Electronic Publishers Foundation for its coverage of drug- and alcohol-impaired clinicians in the October and November 2001 issues. These stories provide information to assist managers in identifying addicted physicians and staff and helping them recover and return to work, if they so desire. The series was written by Senior Managing Editor Joy Daughtery Dickinson, who has edited Same-Day Surgery for 11 years.
