These two sites provide guides, contacts, and other information on telemedicine. They also are a great first stop linking you to a host of other useful sites.
www.atmeda.org — The home of the Ameri can Telemedicine Association, this site provides white papers that detail the history of telemedicine and explore current issues in the field. The association has posted a set of clinical guidelines it has created for home care telemedi cine. You can also find contacts and links to other telemedicine sites.
tie.telemed.org — The Telemedicine Information Exchange bills itself as "the global navigation tool for telemedicine information." It provides a number of databases that can be searched, including more than 6,000 article citations, and information about more than 200 telemedicine programs worldwide.
A separate section on home health provides links to programs, vendors, and citations. The exchange was created and is maintained by the Telemedicine Research Center with support from the National Library of Medicine.
