NHPCO warns: False invoices faxed
Group does not fax renewal notices
The National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization (NHPCO) has received several calls, faxes, and e-mails from members across the country who received a faxed membership dues invoice from an organization called the National Home Care and Hospice Palliative Care Association. The invoice is for 2010 annual dues of $475. The payment address is South Easton, MA.
This is not a dues invoice from the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization. NHPCO does not fax its renewal notices.
"We have been investigating the source of these faxes and attempting to gather additional information on this organization in Massachusetts," the organization said in a released statement. "Please be aware that NHPCO has filed a complaint with the Massachusetts attorney general. If we learn more information, we will let members know. Should you wish to send a compliant to the Massachusetts attorney general, that may be directed to [email protected]."
NHPCO will mail provider renewal packets for 2011 provider dues in December 2010. If you need a legitimate provider renewal notice from the NHPCO membership staff, contact them at (800) 646-6460 or email at [email protected].
