Acute lymphocytic leukemia (ALL) in the elderly is not common, but as in younger adults, a subset will be Philadelphia chromosome postitive (Ph+). In young patients with Ph+ ALL, the addition of imatinib has been shown to be effective in enhancing complete response rates and relapse-free survival.
